I think im good now. All my training programs build on each other going from Novice to Intermediate to Advanced. Novice 2 thus is a step upward from Novice 1.

Designed for experienced runners those who have raced several half marathons maybe even a full-distance marathon. Im looking at either Hal Higdon Novice 1 vs Novice 2. This is a follow up to my Hal Higdon half marathon training plan video.

Half Marathon Novice 2 kilometers Train with TrainingPeaks. In 2014 I used Hal Higdon Intermediate red in kilometres since I run in km for Valley Harvest Half Marathon. I noticed this plan also has recovery weeks every three weeks as opposed to every four like my other plan had which i think will be better for me.

These are new runners who have only begun to train. You can read my review of the Novice 2 plan here. Here is a rough analysis of weekly miles excluding the final race week.

Why I chose the Hal Higdon Intermediate 1 Plan. Ill stick with the Hal Higdon Novice 2 plan. Half Marathon Novice 2.

This is my Intermediate 1 Marathon Training Program one step up from Novice 2. Novice 1 targets beginners. One of my best friends Jordan ran her first marathon in April and highly recommended using one of Hal Higdons plans.

I discuss why I chose the novice 2 plan. Novice 2 is designed for runners who may already have run and finished their first marathons and want to add just a bit more mileage while training for their second or third marathons hoping to improve their times perhaps even qualify for the Boston Marathon BQ. This year I chose Novice 2 for Maritime Race Weekend Half Marathon and 5k.

I changed everything to kilometres againI run in km not milesIm Canadian So why did I choose Novice 2. She used his Novice 1 marathon training program. While Hal Higdons plans are very vanilla for novice and intermediate the novice plans have worked well for me in the past.
